Ever dreamed of a diamond driver? Here it is! The new ACCUTON D²20-6 has a membrane made of one single piece of pure diamond. It goes from 2 kHz to almost 100 kHz and shows harmonic distortion magnitudes lower than conventional tweeters. The stiffness to weight ratio of the membrane is about five times higher than even our extremely rigid ceramic drivers. The sound propagation in the diamond material is almost 18,000 m/sec, the highest in any existing material.

Our new passive radiators feature an incredibly stiff carbon fibre sandwich. It is so strong that you could jump on it without even bending. The radiators will be available in 7 and 8 inch size with variable weight to adjust for all possible and reasonable resonance frequencies.

See the detailed structure of a 45 µm ceramic membrane magnified several 1000 times by electron microscope. Note that the membrane consists of two layers growing together from the outside as aluminum oxidation progresses. Also note the small porosity holes due to the change of crystal lattice after burning the membrane at 1400° Celsius (2550° Fahrenheit).

This new unit with 173 mm ceramic membrane is in the works now. The first listening test showed a bass impact of impeccable quality unheard before. Preliminary parameter measurements indicate an optimum vented cabinet of 35 to 50 liters. The unit will be called ACCUTON C²220-T6 and contains a 6 Ohm voice coil on titanium VC former.
